Game News
It’s been announced that “Tecmo Bowl Throwback” coming out this spring on the Xbox 360 and Ps3 for download is the remake of the 1993 Snes game and not the original 8 bit game that some people thought. Throwback features the rosters of all 32 current NFL franchises. And Tecmo Koei promises plenty of old-school goodness! Gamespy has a great write-up and this current great snapshot of the 3d graphics. Looks VERY good. The game will also feature online multi-player, original 2D and updated 3D graphics, customizable teams and rosters, and online leader boards. My god in heaven this could be what Tecmo fans have wanted for a long time! I hope they keep the same old school game-play we all love so much.

It appears Rockstar Games the producer of the HUGELY successful “Grand Theft Auto” series, just wants to polish things up and make sure the product is top notch when it hit’s the shelves. Hey I always say quality is number one , so if we have to wait and extra month for Rockstar to work out the kinks I’m all for it. Take your time fella’s.

PSN Problems make PS3 Inoperable
March 1, 2010 by Stu Riches
Game News
Sony’s Playstation Network (PSN) went into meltdown this weekend, logging users out of the service and preventing them from playing online games. Users are reporting that previously downloaded games – including Heavy Rain – cannot be played offline, that trophies won in games have disappeared from the console.
Sony is aware of the problem, posting updates on both its PS3 blog and Twitter stream. Oddly, the issue is confined to the original big PS3s: The PS3 Slim remains unaffected by the problem.
Although Sony says it will have a fix by this morning, it has not yet said what went wrong. Anecdotal evidence points to a combination of DRM and firmware issues rather than a network outage. Affected units have their system date set to Dec 31, 1999 (something impossible to do manually, according to PS3 News) or January 1st 2000 and the consoles are only able to play non-protected games.
This, combined with errors like the following:
8001050F – Hardware failure. Cannot update Firmware or connect to Internet

Heavy Rain

This game is a must for PS3 owners. It’s and emotional roller coaster of a ride that’s definitely worth the price of admission! This is a game from Quantic Dream the makers of “Indigo Prophecy” so expect the game to play just like a movie. You control allot of different characters moving them around an environment and interacting with objects, but often times watching the game play out, while performing sensitive button presses or analog stick movements in order to change the way the scenes resolve, which will affect the outcome of the story. The controls are fantastic and engaging and the story line will put you threw a ton of emotions from sadness to anger to wanting revenge. This game is easily a “9.2″ outta “10″ so make sure to check it out. Heavy Rain hit the store shelves Feb 12, 2010 so GET IT!
NES Classic: Tecmo Bowl Throwback

And update to the SNES version of the classic football game Tecmo Bowl is coming to both XBLA and PSN. That’s the rumor even though no official date has been set. Dubbed “Tecmo Bowl Throwback,” the game is a remake of the NES classic, complete with HD graphics. It also retains the original plays and team stats. My hope is that it plays like the SNES version “Super Tecmo Bowl” the second version put out on the SNES, because that was the best game-play Tecmo has ever put out. LOVE that game, and actually I still play it today.
